Avoiding Another Columbine Part 1 and 2-

I wrote these 2 articles for Lakeland Newspapers in1999 shortly after the Columbine Attack. Although gun control was a debate that was raging at that time, I saw other important issues that were not being discussed, that I felt needed addressing. It saddens me intensely that the same things seem to be operating today at an even worse level. While I do avidly support having trained, armed guards within our schools, and the right of each person to be able to protect themselves, because we use that to guard our money and politicians, and I certainly believe our children are more precious and should have the same protection, I also hope for a day when this society gets it's act together on more of these things so we don't have to lose more innocents ever again.
